Yo 300k is a ton of money. Y’all don’t donate to that. Donate to an actual cause that matters or someone with a health issue that’s in serious need.
Could be. Or it could be that Hassan reasonably believes that the sport authorities charged with the administration of her antidoping controls off season have given the green light and therefore she is able to dope more aggressively. In cycling all the top riders doped, but every year there were a handful that were extra prepared. Doping does not need to be state sponsored, just state tolerated. Think Spain in the 1990s or Great Britain over the last decade. Combine official corruption with unequal adminstration and the general ease of getting away with it and Shelby nailed in burrito-gate while Hassan competes at the Olympic while glowing in the dark.

She will raise $300k in no time. 300 of us at $1k and she is there.
I don't think so. She lost her appeal, is reasonably wealthy and can pay her own attorney fees. If Nike won't pay them, why would anyone else?
She has already raised $2,140 in the first hour. As word spreads, donations will rise. Not sure if she will ever raise $300K but I think $100K will certainly happen. One guy already donated $500.
Not getting a penny from me.
I would be fascinated the basis for any appeal as it can only be on procedural matters.
Any ideas?
I long time ago I read a paper about the freedom of being a sociopath in society - the lack of having any conscience, no empathy, no remorse, no feelings of embarrassment when acting socially inappropriately - gives them the freedom to just do whatever they want that is in their own best interests. The burrito story is an embarrassment any normal person would refuse to tell because it is so obviously a lie - but, if you don't feel embarrassment, you can tell a lie and repeat that lie endlessly. It doesn't bother you - you just want people to believe your lie as that is beneficial to you. Focus on what you want. You can start a begging campaign to let strangers pay for your life, because you do not feel any of the normal social cues that would make begging embarrassing. You can dope and cheat because you just don't care about cheating other honest people, you only care about what is good for you.
Freedom - free to lie, free to beg, free to cheat, free to let others pay for your goals, free to cheat others out of their goals. That's why you want to be a sociopath in today's society. Freedom.

I dont beleive this for a second - freedom of infomation request from Nike?
Ha ha ha!!!!!
Are you serious? Freedom of information act? From a private business????? Nike isn't a public entity! Everybody thinks because we live in an information age that everybody's business should just be "out there". Let me help you out.
Private companies are not covered by the Freedom of Information Act. Broadly only organizations considered public authorities are covered by the law. This means FOI requests cannot be made to businesses and private companies generally. It is not possible to send an FOI request to a company such as Nike or McDonald's for instance.
They must be compelled to release(subpoena) or voluntarily release.
And now you know.
Cue theme music.
Graphic of shooting star.
End.

It obviously is not a joke. This is someone's life at stake.
At the time she got banned she was probably one of the highest paid Nike track athletes plus she graduated college, right? So she shouldn't be hurting for money. Also anyone else find it funny she still trying to clear her name even after the evidence came out? Like really, what other nonsense are we going to pretend didn't happen? Sorry, she got caught and should work a regular job now and should be banned from competing till at least after the next Olympics.
Guilty or not, whatever. But a GoFundMe? Wow! As stated above, she has a degree and under the Nike umbrella. Time to work 40 hours, side coaching gig and sell Nike merch on ebay.
Pity for you that she was not convicted for cheating.

This may be worse than the Floyd Fairness Fund.
That was also my first thought. Where had I seen this before?
Did she dope? Most certainly yes.
Should we care? No. Because she a phenomenal athlete and that is what our sport is about.
It’s good for the sport to have our best athletes running and pushing each other to their limits. They should not be spending the prime years of their lives serving doping bans.
No Christmas for the kids or family this year. I'm sending the money to Shelby.
Get a job, Shelbo.
I would LOL if Colleen donates $1

They're gonna execute her over this????
How is this even legal. I would sooner light my money on fire than see any of it go to this fund. She should be behind bars and be responsible for repaying all of her sponsors.

This. There are WAY more worthy causes in the world. Don't be stupid fans by giving to this.
