56 seconds. I wasn't far off.
Weini is the most talented female distance runner the US has ever had.

Joan Benoit and Mary Decker might beg to differ.
Kelati broke the course record by more than a miute and was only 1:31 off the men's winner. Wow.
Dude I was top 25, paid my own way, not in the elite field, no COVID vaccination proof and got my prize money no problem

All rejected.
f*ck Manchester anyway. They require all elites be injected with the experimental Covid associated drugs. But they don't require it of the regular folks paying for the race..how odd!
Yep think about that for a second. They only care about their image/reputation. Health is used as a front once again. Flanagan is impressive though that stache gives him the street cred he needs and deserves.
If you like Weini Kelati getting caught in the rain.

Well actually, Colleen Quigley would have been sub-22.

Being 1:31 off the men's winner isn't significant because the difference is usually 2 minutes in the 10k on the track and 90 seconds in the 5k on the track. Weini is one of the best in the world and Flanagan is a C-list pro.
It's worth mentioning that this is the first year that supershoes were prevalent at the race since it wasn't contested in 2020 and in 2019 there were 25 mph winds.
C list. Tough judge. I guess A list is world major podium, B list is Olympians.

Two-time Falmouth RR winner?
Why are his track pr's so mediocre? This guy looks amazing
There was a time when guys were recognized as more road racers or cross country racers, track credentials weren't as good.
I remember Erik De Beck of Belgium (?) winning the world cross, beating top track and marathon guys. They called him a cross-country specialist.
Pekka Paivarinta of Finland.
In the 80's it seems there were a bunch of road racers who couldn't really make it on the track.
They would do the road circuit and pick up decent money.
If you remember DeBeck you must be about my age. He's one of my favorite guys that I know almost nothing about but his ARRS page shows all of four track races, one being a one hour run and a track 10k best of 29:03. Everything else is cross country or road. Paavarinta did a bit more on the track. I got my 5,000 PR in a race he was in. I think he might have had some decent steeples(?) Brian Rose from New Zealand was another guy whose track times gave no indication of how good he was at cross country.

No you didn’t. You got a gift certificate.
Again, there is no $300 prize money. You got a $300 gift certificate.

Nope. $250 cash plus $50 gift certificate. Again, you just made up that there was some elite entrant requirement for prize money, and then got all incredulous about the thing you made up. There is no requirement. You can give up now.
Wrong. Look at the race site and I was there.
What shoes did she wear?

You're right. A list is world major podium. B list is Olympian. C list hit the Olympic standard but did not make their nation's team. So Flanagan is actually D list as he has never hit the Olympic standard.
Nice to see Alex Ostberg. Haven’t seen him in a while and a good run by him and Ferro. Hunter losing to arguably the worse tinman in Joey is kinda surprising. Weini’s course record is insane. She beat Ari Klau(ik he’s in tri training) but she destroyed the field
