Congratulations to Alan Peterson!! Best of luck with the new position. See... It isn't that difficult. I am not sure why LRC has be populated by anonymous crap talkers but you drive people away from the sport. But here we have someone citing statistics. So you have brought up 14:14 in the 5k. What about it? I think we can all agree the average D1 schools are capable of providing more resources than the average DII schools. And there are certainly quite a few more DI schools. It would be laughable if DI didn't have significantly more depth. But this thread was initially about a specific program. And their top XC just won DII Nationals and transferred from a Power 5 DI team. As best I can tell, Isaac Harding finished 44th at DI XC Nationals and had PBs of 8:10 and 14:07 in the 3k and 5k respectively while at Michigan. He then transferred to GVSU and ran 7:53/13:43 and just won DII XC Nationals. It doesn't appear moving to DII in any way hindered his progression. And GVSU had 5 runners in their top 7 that have run faster than 14:14, one in their top 7 that hasn't run a collegiate 5k, and several runners that didn't race at XC Nationals who have PBs better than 14:14. So tell us your name and PBs... I'm sure you could teach GVSU a thing or two 🤣🤣🤣

Which is exactly why….
It took the entire D1 to lower itself to the 300th runner to run 14:14 for 5k
And yet only the 40th in D2 to get that high
Lmao 🤣
