I haven't talked to the poet about who every character is, but with general knowledge of the situation here is how I interpreted it.

Romeo is Reuben

Juliet is Clara

Mercutio is Ian Curtis

Tybalt is Stephen

Montague is Brian Power

Capulet and Lady Capulet are the Rickses

Unclear who Friar Laurence is.

Make of that what you will.

How come nobody ever talks about women's MIAC on this thread, other than the occasional cross-river Northfield drama? Clara Mayfield and Fiona Smith ran absolutely insane in Mankato tonight- 9:35 and 9:37 for #1 and #2 in DIII this season. That's legit.

Second Carleton school record of the season for Mayfield after that fast mile last weekend too.

heard from one of my friends at olaf that reuben is feeling insecure about his 3k pr after Clara's performances the past few weekends. how much longer does he have before she catches him?

Some quick times this weekend, looks like everyone but Carleton ran their big guns. Lloyd put 3 seconds into the rest of the miac field in the last 400 at the u of m and looks like the strongest distance guy. Calvin Boone probably had the second most impressive mile - a little slower than Ian Curtis and Mitchell Grand but solo. Ole and Johnny depth looked really solid too, they each had 4 guys sub 4:25. Bocovich was unable to make an impression in the 3k. Munir now has the fastest 3k and Middendorf the fastest 800 after their ndsu meet. Gusties are living in a post-Stumbo dystopia.

It will be interesting to see who runs what at conference. Johnnies, Carls, and Oles could all field solid dmrs if they wanted, and if concordia can find another mid d guy they would be a threat as well. 3k and mile should be pretty quick and deep, but it remains to be seen who can challenge Lavey in the 5k. Mid distance events have been pretty weak so far - only 3 guys sub 2:00 in the 800 and the 1k is a black hole.

Is Stephen Lavey the new Carleton GOAT? The kid from Cedar Belgium Grove is showing the MIAC who’s boss. To nats he goes.

Word on the street is St. Scholastica’s Lars Dewall is running in the DMR before racing the Birkie this weekend. Saw him run 2:57 for a 1200 in practice the other day. Instant contenders for sure
