Not sure if you are a UCLA fan or Alumni, but you seem to be missing the point.
It is not acceptable for any mid-major to be finishing ahead of P5 schools, who for the most part have better facilities, more money, more scholarships, and are generally bigger draws on all accounts than their weaker counter parts. They have every advantage.
I am retired from being a D-I coach, and in my career I was only at mid-majors, but we finished in the top 25 at the Indoor and Outdoor NCAA several times, and beat several big name programs like UCLA, Texas, etc. Our budget was was probably a quarter or less than what these schools had, and yet they couldn't produce when it mattered.
So it doesn't matter if it is SFA, UTEP, or NC A&T. For UCLA to not be a perennial top 15 type team is not acceptable. To not be able to get the job done as well as a mid-major is even worse...
