I am not offended at all. Just curious as to why you post so frequently. Now I have my answer. I don't anticipate a reply to this because there is nothing to reply to but that has never stopped you before has it?

I wonder if the same phenomenon with twins happens in other sports. Off the top of my head:
Ronde and Tiki Barber (Football)
Jose and Ozzie Canseco (Baseball)
Can anybody name others?
There were a set of triplet girls who ran for Terra Nova HS in Pacifica, CA. I think they were 400 runners, nothing to write home about, but boy was it fun to ask who was running the relay.
Rummelhart to Rummelhart to Rummelhart...
HBK and PBK.
Jason and Jarron Collins (basketball)
and
me and Geb (I haven't made my debut, but I could kick Geb's butt until he was 16 and started to train (I have started training and am in about 13min/5K shape after 3mos of work)).
Thought of another pair....
The Sedin brothers from the Vancouver Canucks
I am an identical twin and can offer some insight on this post.
I have generally been the faster twin (24:30/5mi) most of our competitive careers. My brother (25:30/5mi) has always been right with me (often in front of) in workouts. I have to work my butt off, often times, to stay with him in interval training. What sets us apart is that I have been able to focus better in races and the self-confidence is there for me. He is able to hold his concentration for about 3/4 of a race before fading back.
He has really worked on the mental aspect of his running, but it still dogs him. Physically (being identical this is pretty obvious), we are on the same playing field, and therefore he should be able to compete alongside me.
The mental edge I have is the only advantage I have over my brother.
i bid thee adieu
Stonerocks went to different schools after hs. Darren to Northern Arizona and Kirk to driving an ambulance or something. I'm sure someone here has the specifics. Watching them race the Mastalirs on Mt. Sac and Arcadia was straight out of an acid trip.
ps. anyone remember that Arcadia race. Eric 8:44 Marc 8:48 on a then dirt track. Eric was 64-60 last two laps.
I think I read in a Fast-women.com interview with Molly Huddle that she had a twin, but did not run. I guess she had different interests. Imagine if she was just as good as her twin sis Molly....

I myself am a twin
Yes we were good and became the best runners at each of our high schools. Yes we went to different high schools. We ran very similar prs our junior year, he ran as a freshman and after seeing all his success I came out for my team, I advanced after a season to our best runner. As sophomores he ran phenom times and I was alright compared, but I pointed out once he went through the 1mile during his 2mile at my pr? and he liked to point out that girls could beat me. funny thing was in his division at state there was a set of twin who were the best. So if I had gone to his school it would have been two sets of twins in the top 4 during cross country. I thought that was rad but I wasn?t about to move schools. Junior year we ran similar times in the mile but he ran faster 2mile while I ran faster 800m and 400m. he was low mileage and I was high mileage. We ran a lot together on weekends or when we could and we pushed each other and before junior year we trained together over the summer, winter of junior year he skipped training and only equaled his prs from sophomore year. Before senior year he got ?injuried? and I jumped my mileage up. I ran fast early in the season but by the end of the season he beat me. he skipped track because of all the comparisons we kept making. It was very hard during indoors when we raced and I won the mile and he got like 10th in the 2mile, my dad said something to him like you suck. He partied over senior year while I trained my butt off to beat his sophomore prs and did.
Why did we get good
He won, and so did I. But we rarely raced each other, we each became our own stars at our schools.
We trained together and always talked of what I ran, always trying to top each other. Ex. I would be like I ran 10*400 at X and he said I ran 10*400 at X but with only Y rest. During the off season it was pushing each other a lot during training. Alone on certain trails I would push myself but when we ran together we felt the energy and ran much faster even though it felt similar. We also pointed each other weaknesses and worked on it in training. Ex. I pointed out he didn?t kick very well while I did, so in training we practiced kicking against each other.
Two schools of training
He was low mileage while I was about high mileage. In college I ran the 8k almost 2minutes faster than he did?.. but I also got a stress fracture and he didn?t???. Its not very dynamic, a twin is a built in best friend and training partner. We always pushed each other and helped each other along, we didn?t race each other, we ran together and coached each other. We raced very few times, we would usually compare times. He won most of the times we raced together in high school in college I beat him when we raced( again different schools) .
i saw a race which had triplets girls running, they were like the 3,4,5 runners on the team and all ran together and by the end of the race it was usually very close.
NC State had/has a few sets of twins that were/are pretty good... Chan & Corby Pons, Laura & Sara Rhoads, and now Kristin & Kara Price.
You're right. Molly Huddle does have a twin sister, but she didn't say in that www.fast-women.com interview if that twin was an identical twin or not, and that would make all the difference of course.
Molly Huddle mentioned in her Brief Chat at Runner's World that her twin is not identical and is not inclined toward running at all.
The Price twins actually begin at different colleges - Kristin at Virgina Tech and Kara at, I think, Wofford - before both transferring to NC State.
Thanks for the info. Molly Huddle said that none of her siblings are into sports at all. Her dad though is a runner and has been for a long time - that's how she got into it.
Don't forget the Jefferson twins.
I hear the Jefferson twins are movin' on up to the East side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky?
Yes, they're moving on up to the east side. They finally got a piece of the pie.
Dana Coons is a twin, not identical, a brother. Anyone know of other non identical twins other than her and Huddle that may or may not be both fast??
