I'm literally melting right now. I can't wait till Sunday. If Bekele doesn't win I will let the entire letsrun community to take a dump on me

If Kandie doesn’t win very convincingly I will be surprised
Albert Korir will win in 2:08:35
True will be just under 2:11

I think I know your true motivation around here now. Thanks for that.

Literally?
"When we asked Hermens how much Berlin took out of Bekele, he responded, “”Nothing. It was a long run.”
I BELIEVE

I love Bekele as much as anyone, but running a suicidal first 1/2 marathon and then blowing up is more than a "long run." As usual, everything that comes out of Hermen's mouth about Bekele's fitness and preparation is total bogus.
He probably took something like 6 weeks off and then started jogging 2 weeks ago.

The American course record is tecnically Meb Keflezighi's 2:09:13 but Salazar's 2:08:13 from 1981 that was 148 meters short is equivalent to 2:08:40ish.
I'm rooting for Bekele but the big marathons this weekend are Zurich and Istanbul. Check out the elite fields!
Very brave assessment. True running sub 2:10 just simply won't happen though. He has the potential to be a great marathoner, but sub 2:10 on his debut is too much to ask from an American, even of True's calibre.
I’m sorry for being 13 seconds off.
My bad.

I think he can run 2:09 or so at Chicago after today. Good first showing for a guy that late into his career.
