Fourth in the Olympics, Lawrence Cherono is the main man here. Second here last year in his PB of 2.03.04. Won Boston in 2019 and Amsterdam in 2018 in 2.04.06

The women’s field is not as quick as last year, before any additions. Azmera Gebru could win it with a repeat of her PB of 2.20.48 when third in Amsterdam in 2019. Sixth in Tokyo last year in 2.22.58. Ran 3000 in Monaco in 2012 as a 16yo when fifth in 8.40.01. Broke 15 for 5000 before that.

Next, still in front of Kamworor, could be Amos Kipruto. Third in the last World Champs and fourth here last year in 2.03.30, his PB.

At 35yo, Nancy Jelagat would be a surprise for second. Hasn’t had a serious attempt at this classic distance: winning Treviso in 2019 in 2.36.22.

So then, Geoffrey is third. With his best at the half being the former WR of 58.01, you would surmise that he could find another two minutes to take off his PB at this classic distance. Needs to find that here to keep a top ten ranking, in my book.
Sixth in the Olympic marathon, Melat Kejeta might be next woman. Sixth also on debut in Berlin 2019 in 2.23.57 when aiming for 2.22. Second at the World Half Champs in 65.18, three seconds outside Hassan’s AR
Mule Wasihun should be fourth, PB of 2.03.16 when third in London in 2019. Fifth in London last year and second in Amsterdam in 2018 in 2.04.37.
Fourth lady may be Gutemi Shone in her 19th time of toeing the line here [stat from "Views from the Concourse"]. Second last year in Dubai in 2.20.11 and second In Prague this last May in 2.21.46.

Next from the names we know so far should be Tadelech Bekele. Ninth here in 2019 in 2.22.53. PB of 2.21.40 when third in London in 2018. Was 4th on debut in Berlin in 2014 in 2.23.02 then 4th there again the next year.

I am guessing it may be any day now that we see a more full list than the 8 and 9 named last month

Sixth woman on debut could be Dorcas Tuitoek. PB in Istanbul in 2019 when chasing Ruth C. and finishing in 66.33. Her best time over 10k is from Bolzano on New Year's Eve last year in 30.44, second by a second to Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi. Earlier that month was 4th here in Valencia over the half in 67.18

Wasihun and Amos Kipruto are no longer on the list, but others have replaced them.

Kejeta and T.Bekele no longer running here. Not much class to replace them compared to the deep men's field.

So then, that makes it Gebru, Jelagat, Shone, and Tuitoek as my top 4. Next should be Bedatu Hirpa. Was named to run Boston but was a DNS. I had her pegged at 9th in that field:
https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=10794542&page=1#1083663518 months ago, I ranked her 31 in the world:

Top 4 now Cherono, Kamworor, Atanaw, and Belihu. 5th should be Tadu Abate if he backs up well from his fourth in Berlin, that I predicted here:
