I just ran the Mesa Marathon in 2:24:49 on 2/12/22. I averaged about 60mpw of running in the build up to the race. I did incorporate some cycling in there as well. I even did a local cycling race a couple weeks out from the marathon.
I was originally planning on doing the Houston marathon but I go Covid at the end of December and decided to skip it. I'm pretty happy with how the Mesa marathon went considering I got Covid about 6 weeks before the race. I took a full week off of running and eased back into training after Covid. I didn't want to take any risks coming back from Covid.
Now I'm planning on racing the LA Marathon on March 20th. I'll take a week almost completely off of running after the Mesa marathon, but I will be cycling. I plan on ramping up the running mileage to 80-90mpw with some good workouts in there and some cycling on top of that.
