Has anyone here run loop courses for the marathon? With my pacing issue at the marathon, I think I will be able to properly learn pacing My marathon is 2/6 and I think to shoot for my sub-3:15 I'll have to hold back for sure and go 7:40, 7:40, 7:35 the first three miles before settling in at GMP (7:26 or slightly faster).
Took a week off completely, no running, just light walking and other exercise.
Ran a solo 21:36 TT for 3.16 miles (longer than a 5k) just to see how a brisk pace still felt but I had no real time goal, just to see if the legs still had speed. 6:40, 6:51, 6:57 and then slowed up a little at the end because I wanted to check that I made the distance.
I ran the 21:36 on the course where the loop marathon will be in 3 mos. It's incredibly flat!
I turned off Autolap on my Garmin. That's a huge tip, so thank you to HS XC Coach for that tip.
Did 4 EZ today, 38 minutes or just under. Garmin is weird and so is Strava. Ran 4.00 on my Garmin but Strava shows 3.99. Not a big deal, I'll run 4.01 on Garmin (or any run, I'll add 0.01 each time) to adjust to 4.00 on my Strava.
