So my XC season has just ended and after a half marathon I'm running in a few weeks I'm going to start training for track season. It is my senior year so I'm looking to make big gains and I want to try something new. I am a very durable athlete, so I think I can handle this. This is what my training would look like:
Monday-off
Tuesday-easy 6 miles
Wednesday- 4 mile tempo. 8 miles total w/lifting
Thursday- AM 3 miles easy. PM 1-2 mile w/up. Pure speed ranging from 50-100m with full recovery. 1-2 c/d
Friday-easy 6 miles
Saturday-Either hill repeats with jog back recovery or threshold intervals. total ~8 miles w/lifting
Sunday- 9-11 miles easy
Does anyone have any critiques or suggestions?
