Yep - he’s 35 born 1986 (May 8, 1986/Taurus - which fits well with his personality, goal setter and type A personality) - Rupp - with those track bests would’ve smoked most of the super shoe guys when he was in his prime. No disrespect to the super shoe guys but it’s a different level. That 10,000 m he ran in Oregon in 2014 was stratospheric.
I am sad that he appears not to get the respect that he deserves not only in the USA but on the world stage because he is LeBron James and Stephen Curry rolled into one. You go to China and the Philippines and you mention LeBron James and Stephen Curry and people go crazy but you mention Galen Rupp and nobody or most people have never even heard of the guy (Rupp) and don’t realize what he’s done and the value. Sad times. Misconceptions. Rupp - American goat in distance running. Some people might think “guilty by association” but I think that is an irrational view.
