They are a good shoe for middle aged plodders like me. I wear them regularly because I can't be bothered to try another brand. I used to wear Saucony Ride and not sure I can really tell the difference. It's just a neutral running shoe with cushioning.
I bought them to rotate with Hoka Clifton 8s. I heard good things about the Ghosts for achilles issues.
They felt very slow at first but have loosened up a bit and I have about 75 miles on them so far. Great for easy days.
8 will always be the best IMO.
I wear them. They are fine. For years I wore the Kinvarra, which I loved for how lightweight and fast they felt. Then I developed Achilles issues. The Ghosts seems to help. They definitely feel bulky but I have gotten used to them.

Go to any high school cross country meet and you will see more Ghosts than any other trainer. I suppose the Pegasus would be a close competitor. No shoe has cultivated more loyalty (repeat buyers) than the Ghost.
Is it a little on the heavier side? sure
12mm heel ramp is on the higher end as well (not noticeable unless you are comparing to 8mm or less)
In a world of Endorphin speed, Mach 4, carbon-whatever, is it a little vanilla? sure
But it is a very comfortable, proven workhorse of a trainer.

Ghost 6 were the greatest.
It's always funny hearing how different people's experiences are. I initially hurt my Achilles in the Ghost 11. I think the heel collar being stiff is a detriment to the shoe, but otherwise it is extremely comfortable. I also would prefer a slightly lower heel. I still run in the 13s occasionally, but now it's more of a recovery shoe than daily trainer.
Bonus points for Brooks X wide actually fitting my feet. Can't say the same for NB or ASICS.

I've run since 2008 in Saucony Grid Cohesion shoes, but tried the Brooks Ghost (8, older model online) in '21. It was stiff and not super-comfortable, but firm enough to run Cbus in. I went back to the Grids and liked them, but realized the lack of cushioning was hard on my arches. I went with Saucony Ride 14s a few days ago and love them so far!
Do they come in size 17?
Asking for a friend.
