Unpopular Opinion: Sorry but there’s no such thing as super shoes. Anything you can do in super shoes you can do in trainers or regular racing flats.
The Super Shoes aren’t giving you any extra talent. They don’t have wheels.

Half of Japan has run under 2:08 in the past 18 months, compared to three or four previously in all of history.
That was actually a popular opinion in 2017. Then reality hit.
OP, how much running have you done in super shoes?
i got a pair myself to try out: vaporfly next% 2
pretty comfortable to wear first time out, was very surprised. my stride was all weird because of the stack height, but that is true with any new trainer, i believe (yes, i wear them as trainers). now my stride is fine and i can run better on hills/tempos.
at first i was nervous about getting them, since i only run a 18 minutes 3 mile. i am not nervous anymore, and they also fixed my form. this is something i need to look into. it might have fixed my stride to be better, as there are way less niggles and injuries since wearing them.
the price is not something to yawn at, but compared to many other sports, $200-300 every 1-2 months is not too pricey (understand that i dont pay for them lol). i would rather wear these shoes than many others i have tried in the past.
the only downside is that i feel very judged whenever i wear them. whenever i take them out it feels like what i imagine a homeless man feels like carrying a fancy briefcase (or something like that). like i dont deserve them or something (sorry to get personal, its just something to look at).

Where did someone run 2:01.39 or sub 2 without super shoes. I must have missed those results
OP, what super shoe are you currently running in?
You sir are wrong!

The marathon has changed a lot in recent years. More talented runners are coming to the marathon in their prime instead of waiting until after their track career. The WR has been dropped 4 minutes this century!
And I have not tried super shoes(or even held a pair). But just the fact they’re called “Super Shoes” is full on marketing gimmick.
But maybe a pair will help me compete in the local Turkey Trot masters division and I can get to sub 7 pace if I hop off the couch and start training now.

How fast did Kipchoge run in regular shoes?

Multiple studies disprove your anecdotal take. However, it could be that you are a non-responder. In that case, the diminished damage and ability to recover faster (and thus insert more quality) will still make you faster in the long run.
Anecdotally, they were worth about 15 seconds in a recent 5k and I had virtually zero fatigue or muscular damage the next day. I’m a DOMS guy and this is a game changer for me.

Jordan Hasay agrees!
Super shoes are the end of competitive running. If I see someone in super shoes (which is pretty much everyone) I immediately negate any performance. “You ran a 4:00 mile in super shoes? Yeah, no.” Go to any D1 cross meet and every single runner will be in some type of super shoe. Gone are the days when hard work actually meant something. To me there is no difference between super shoes and epo. Remember when the NFL had a cow over deflated footballs? Imagine if, instead, the balls were technologically developed to go 10% further? No additional effort needed.
Yawn another post, people have realised that you run better in max cushioned shoes that are lightweight. Rather than just lightweight shoes, now we have moved away from Eva midsoles and found a better material for reducing the loss of energy we cry and call them super shoes.
Track spikes were always super shoes yet we don’t cry are those. Regardless of brand they have so much h advantage on modern tracks it’s crazy
No edit…
Just look at track 1mile/3k/5k/10k/10mile times vs road and tell me what is a super shoe.
My legs definitely appreciate the super shoes in the final 10k of a marathon. That much I know.
Why don`t they help Americans ?........Still pretty slow, and have more super shoes than anybody.

lmao
I disagree. I have run in the adios and the vaporfly next. I know which one I would rather run in.
When you say “Super Shoes”, do you mean Nike Vapor Fly Next %2 and Zoom Alphafly and Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 2.0?
