Lied under oath to Congress.
Lied under oath to Congress.
Uh, conservatives are bad or something
I saw the story earlier today on the news. Fauci should resign but I know he won't due to ego and, probably. profits.
Feel like this is targeted at Collins? Not Fauci?
Gain of function research was never forbidden or even discouraged. It’s probably stupid given the lax safety standards of many academic labs though.

But it kills the fatties and the oldies, so it's doing the job it was designed for.

It was absolutely forbidden.
Obama lifted the ban just before Trump came into office....but it was in effect when Fauci funded it.
Dr. Fauci, the NIAID, and the NIH ignored a ban on gain-of-function research instituted by the Obama administration in 2014 and continued to fund it until the Trump administration revoked funding in April 2020, and knowingly continued to fund research undertaken at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Obama cancelled the NIH funding of virus engineering. The U.S. Army continuing finding the primary developer, Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina. Trump allowed the military funding to continue.

Sounds like Fauxi is the real insurrectionist. It's certainly not in the best interests of the U.S. to funnel U.S. money to fund the biological weapons research of the primary adversary of the U.S.

No, Trump restarted the covid grant to UNC via the U.S. Army. His way of claiming he stop something when he didn't.

The U.S. has been engineering dangerous strains of covid for decades. And Trump funded it during his regime.
"That NIH spending included about $265,000 for the lab under the Trump administration. In 2019, NIH renewed the grant to EcoHealth Alliance for another five years. That decision came on Trump’s watch."
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/apr/30/blog-posting/obama-administration-did-not-provide-38-million-wu/Do we think the Director of the NIH or even NIAID personally reviews and signs off every grant? Lol he probably doesn’t even attend any study sections!
Obviously he has to take the fall for it if someone violated an executive order since the issue is highly political… but to assume this is due to some ulterior motive and not just bureaucratic failure is just wishful thinking.

I think it’s less of an issue that Gain of Function took place and more of an issue that Faucci straight up lied about the US funding it.
I remember when Rand Paul confronted Faucci about Gain of Function research and the US funding of it. Faucci denied Paul’s claims very aggressively and many ridiculed Paul for even suggesting such funding. Now, fast forward a few months, and it appears that Faucci at best manipulated the truth to fit a narrative and at worst just straight out & out lied to the American people.

Yeah it’s a bad look. When you’re in front of Congress you have to have your ducks in a row.
I just don’t assume malice or ulterior motives just general screw up/lack of knowledge.
GoF research is a fine line. In some ways is necessary in some ways it’s idiotic.

What does Faucci have on people that he can last multiple administrations and flat out lying to Congress? Probably also knows about the NIH's role in the AIDs epidemic is my guess.
I was right about Brian Laundrie.
I know the current climate is so political that many on the left will defend Faucci to the death. But Faucci has repeatedly bent the truth and straight out lied during this entire pandemic.
He’s a greasy politician at best.

Let’s see.
If you are testifying to Congress (twice) and you know you will be asked that question (which everyone did), it might be in one’s best interest to do a little research on it.
Ignorance is not an excuse in this case.
Keep trying to explain it away. You’re playing the fool though.

What am I trying to explain away?
It’s a colossal screw up!
It’s just not indicative of some deep conspiracy or NWO plan etc. Collins is retiring. Fauci will retire soon too.
They will add some new NIH admins or a check box on grant applications to prevent GoF research from slipping under their noses again and life will move on.

Faucci may have knowingly & repeatedly lied to Congress under oath.
He should not be allowed to just retire and “move on”.
I believe he can get up to seven years in prison and a fine for lying to Congress. Faucci should have his day in court to see if he knowingly did lie.

Sure, political theater and show trials never get old… much more important than focusing on the actual issues!
It’s a waste of time and money but, sure, to humor the weirdos I’ll allow the Wheels if Justice to turn.
Spoiler alert: nothing is gonna happen to Fauci - despite his best attempts otherwise haha.
A bad look?????
He lied to Congress...twice.
