The problem is we lost touch with reality. There are no conservative values worth abiding anymore.
We have one major news outlet claiming the sky is red. All other channels claim the sky is blue. Yet, somehow, in our new reality, claiming the sky is blue is leftist propaganda. They have an agenda to turn us all in to blue sky loving socialists!
Telling the truth is NOT and I repeat NOT leftist.
Yep. There are SOME traditional GOP values (at least ones they have SAID they value) that are very good.
The GOP has long said they are for fiscal responsibility. Actually I have never seen evidence of that in practice, and both parties suck at that, but I'm for that as a platform plank.
The GOP has long said they are for smaller government which I am actually also for. Well, that never really happens either. When a party is in power, they want to keep all the people working for them that they can. Just kind of how it is.
The GOP has long said they are for "family values". Well, that one is flat out bunk. They are for traditional conservative Christian values but not family values. Family values includes ALL families of all makeups, support for time off of work for both parents when there is a new baby, etc. I am actually for "Family Values", but I use a complete and correct definition of what that means.
The GOP has lost its way. The party is dominated now by conspiracy theorists, dictator apologists, racists, and just flat out morons. It's a real shame. While I'm a Democrat, I liked the fact that Conservatives such as George Will were there to offer a reasonable opposing opinion to keep some of the more radical ideas in check. His view is not the prevailing GOP view anymore, and as he has said, the Republican Party left him. It's a real shame. John McCain was a reasonable, honorable conservative. John Kasich also. There just isn't room for people like that in the party anymore.
