This race was previously cancelled but today they just announced it is back. So I am untrained and not ready, how can I best train in the next 5 weeks?
My time for this same race in 2019: 1:22:13
My HM PR: 1:22:03 (Feb 9, 2020)
My 10k PR from 9 days ago: 37:18
My 5k time from a race on Sept 19th: 18:00
Both those 2 recent races were on relatively hilly courses, and I am horrible on hills. My HM in 5 weeks is on a perfectly flat course, so I think I have a good chance to do better than those races would suggest.
I also have another 5k race this saturday where I fully expect to PR (Current PR is 17:55 from March 2020)
I'm male, 47, and have run 2900km (1800 miles) ~70km/week (~43miles/week)
My goal is 1:20:00-1:21:00
Any thoughts on what to do for the next 5 weeks do best prepare?
