Nike Terra T-C
Oddly enough, though, I swear the Skechers GoRun 7 is the same shoe, done better.
Why do people like this shoe (Sketchers GR7)? I got suckered into buying it a few years back. It's slow, clunky, doesn't lend for a smooth gait, etc. But every time I hear it mentioned people are going crazy about it, so I'm missing something. For me it got relegated to being a walking shoe because I hated running in it.

Am also a big fan. Maybe because it's such an unassuming shoe? Perhaps those who grabbed it early had lower expectations which this shoe exceeded. Definitely a blue collar shoe. Not super fast, but light enough with ample cushion and a slight rocker shape which makes it feel speedy enough for tempo paces. Real affordable too. I am on my 3rd pair.
Other GOATS
New Balance 205 (ran 2:21 in those)
New Balance 8-somethings... lightweight stability shoe was amazing

Yeah, I realize I am in the minorty, because I’ve never heard anyone else complain. Maybe I just don’t like big cushion shoes. I love the feeling of Freedoms if I want a bit more support, and they just seem to glide.
adizero boston 5. wish i had 5 more pair.
I recall the Nike Terra T/C coming out in summer, 1982. The upgraded (worse) version was in the fall, 1983.
Vaporfy Next%

Adidas Boston 5/6/7
I had a pair of Etonic Streetfighters in the late 80s that I used to love
More recently I found the Nike Zoom Fly Flynit to be a much more durable and comfortable alternative to the Vaporflys. I bought 4 pairs and while I used them primary as trainers I loved the carbon plate and raced with them several times with good results.
Right now i'm in a pair of Nike free and I love the fit and response but the foam is so soft almost every run I get pebbles stuck and that's a pain. If they could somehow harden the foam a bit so it didn't capture every rock and pebble it would be a great shoe.
Boston 6.
I think the average age of the responders on this thread is 70.
First, Brooks Vantage circa 1979.

Second, Asics Gel Lyte III circa 1990.

Third, OG Bobo's - low top Chuck Taylor knock-offs
Good call on the Vantage.
Someone mentioned the Etonic Streetfighter? That was 1979.
Original Adidas Equipment Gazelle
Adidas Boston 6
Nike Vomero 10
Asics Hyperspeed 4
Original Nike Air Pegasus around 1982 or 83 super durable, never seem to lose cushioning, the uppers would wear out first.
Original Nike Oregon Waffle, only the yellow with green trim will do.
