Our USATF regional race in Michigan is the worst event of any type ever put on. Bad course (subjective), bathrooms are solid 600m from start finish, NO CLOCK, no times. You can just feel the lack of attention to detail oozing from every pore.
^^^ THIS! ^^^
And..... a dead link from the USATF Michigan page to download the entry form - no way to sign - up online.
I understand the Michigan chair (Jacqueline) is understaffed and overworked, but geez come on!!!
(only disagreement with you is about the course - really not too bad although the course though the woods at the one end is more like trail running than XC.
See you on November 13th anyway bigmig19.
I agree, but the track regional is just as bad and almost NO info last year what was going to happen with track regionals. Bad communication has been our experience with Mich USATF. In fairness, AAU is terrible too, but it seems USATF as a national governing body could do better.
It bugs me that there are these private "companies" like AA Running Company that put on giant meets with 200 kids per race and are well attended with good venues and well run. Why cant USATF just sub contract with someone who knows how to put on a meet like them? We have never once seen USATF outreach that they are having a meet, no PR, no email. Then they get no runners. You are not the first person to disagree with me on the course. It feels compressed to me? And god forbid you have a last minute bathroom kid! Long walk to those.
