It was okay. I haven’t been a big fan of any of his recent Netflix shows. Not offensive, just not that funny.
His standup when he was up and coming was much better.

On the side of comedy, The Closer was sub par and it's slowly becoming obvious that Dave is getting old and his success has somewhat gotten to his head.
Agree he came across as cocky in an unfunny way. Introduced himself as rich and famous for seemingly no good comedic reason. Called himself the GOAT just for the applause. Somehow suggested his showing the finger to Hollywood over a decade back gives him street cred for lecturing how metoo Hollywood feminists should have handled it (which didn’t even make much sense).
His comparing black people assaulting Asians to what was happening inside his coronavirus body — his black antibodies destroying the Asian virus??? — was just cringey. And his learning about the dictionary definition of “feminists” and saying how he thought it meant “frumpy dykes” sounded dated and boomeresque, not Chappellesque cutting edge.
The trans stuff was fine and mostly funny.

it wasnt really funny. it also wasnt super offensive.
Yep...that's the measure with comedians...are they either funny or not. If you don't find them funny, then you don't go listen to them anymore. Just because a comedian says something doesn't mean they believe it to be true. If a comedian goes on a speaking tour that is not part of a comedy show where he spews hate, then that's a different thing. ANYTHING a comedian says during a show is fair game short of them telling the audience to go commit murder. Cancel culture has gone too far as it is, but it's gone way too far if we start cancelling comedians for what they say on stage (obviously Cosby and Louis C.K. are a different deal).
Louis CK is not a different deal for me, not remotely in the same boat as Cosby. LCK asked permission, received it, and subsequently admitted and apologized in about as profuse and thorough a manner as possible for the predicament his ask put them through because of his fame. He didn’t supervise any of them or hold power over them, rather he was an established comedian and they budding ones that admired him. You can judge him for his exhibitionist masturbatory kink, but if one has such a kink, it is only natural that they proposition people in their lives some of whom will invariably be fellow comedians.
I agree with your point in general though that comedians should not be held accountable for on-stage comedic content but off-stage behavior is fair game.

The messed up thing about the whole Louis CK thing is he did everything the left tries to tell you to do with regards to sex (asking for and receiving consent):
