What is wrong with these people? They don't deserve football.
They need to go home, get vaccinated, take down their confederate flags and admit Trump lost.

Yes 10/10!
Fans should be banned from the next home game. They do that in soccer to punish unruly fans.
It won't happen because of $$$$$$.

Face recognition. Punish the offenders.
Were they right about the call being bad?
Spectators acting fanatical, who would have thought?
Too much sun on their necks.

This. We can't know if their behavior was warranted until we know if the call was bogus or not. This looks like a rush to judgment type situation by the media.
The call was correct. It was 4th down and something like 26. Without replay, it looks like the receiver may have picked it up. Knee touches down and the receiver slides past where the first down would be. If the receiver had the ball in his other hand, he likely does get the first down. The call on the field may have stood, whatever way it was called.
Tennessee did stop Mississippi after the call and got the ball back (there was a 20 minute delay to get let the fans calm down and quit throwing things), with a chance to win the game, and drove deep into Mississippi territory, but time expired on a quarterback scramble that did not make it the end zone.

This is the type of thinking that demonstrates why our country is screwed. So you think if it was a bad call, it somehow justifies throwing golf balls and trash on to the field?
Are you a Trumper. I am guessing yes.
It appeared to be a mostly peaceful protest.
I believe they were protesting climate change thus all the plastic bottles and trash.
These young men and women are brave. So so brave.
Not the first time stuff has been thrown at a college football game. What was different was the amount of stuff.
Fans were whipped up into a frenzy. First sellout game for UT in 4 years. Provocative former coach hated by the fan base comes back to town. Night game. LED party lights in the stadium. Alcohol now sold in the stadium as of a couple years ago. Team shows offensive firepower in previous two games. Every game will have close calls and fans feel like they got robbed.
UT fans made a name for themselves. They'll be known for this for a long time.
hillbillies gonna hillbilly
garbage in garbage out
People that let sports they are merely observing control their behavior so much are generally losers with no real redeeming quality.
I like pro sports and am a fan of a few teams. I'm glad when they do well and a little annoyed when they don't but I don't let their success or failure give me good or bad days, don't let myself get overly emotional either way, and wouldn't respond to a bad call with violence. Those that do must have no real life because if they did they wouldn't let these strangers control their feelings
Ironically, Mississippi fans pelted Tennessee just 2 years ago.

But that wasn't a nationally televised game so nobody talked about it.

That was a good addition to the thread, but it doesn't absolve the Tennessee fans of being jerks. The throwing of a golf ball is potentially dangerous.
