The amazing thing about being a high school coach is that your athletes are guaranteed to get faster each year.

Even more amazing is that each high school coach is guaranteed to win NXN at least once.

If you were any good, you wouldn't be a high school coach.

Yeah 🙄 She is such a great coach. That explains why she hired Tinman to coach her son.

This isn't high school. It is like when Notre Dame hired super successful high school coach Faust to coach in the early '80s.

Do you guys just pick on her because she is a woman and she coaches runners faster than you?

Hey, clown, she is a decorated coach with solid credentials -- "At Loudoun Valley, Joan Hunter coached her teams to 18 state titles and individual runners to 10 national championships." I know you & many others have problems with women, & women in positions of power, but she can clearly coach. Also coaching is about forming relationships with athletes and helping them do their best. It's less about developing the perfect workout sometimes & more about unlocking potential. This thread shouldn't be up. There aren't threads up on the countless male coaches who pretend to have it all figured out. She doesn't pretend to know everything like men who don't have a clue about most things. There's something to that.

I love the scenes in this video where it shows Coach Hunter during the Chicago race:
* 13:30 - Camera guy shows Coach Hunter how she can see live splits on her phone. "Oh, that's fanstic!" Camera guy explains concept of estimated finish time. "That's if he just keeps going."
* 14:38 - More no-brainers.
If you ever run a marathon you will find out why cautious optimism is not a no-brainer but wisdom and experience.

Ask Club Northwest to put you in charge of their best athletes. When CNW starts dominating the Jacuzzi Boys and Bowerman Elite squads, then you can boast.
It’s just interesting - someone who coached a bunch of teenagers to be fast for hs level (and had someone else coach their fastest athlete) has now taken over trying to coach elite athletes to qualify for olympics in the mile up to the marathon. It’s something worth talking about and watching it unfold. That being said - clearly drew needed his mom to step in and make him grow up and start acting like an athlete thag wants to make Olympic teams
