Aiden won NXN in 2017. So in 2018 and 2019 he gets the 2 mission year trips. And 2020 eligibility didn't count. So this year I'm seeing he is a freshman. But he didn't redshirt or if he did, that means he only did a 1 year mission trip instead of 2?
Shouldn't he be redshirting so that he can have his freshman year be next season when he is 23?

He graduated in 2018. Not sure when he started his 2 year mission. Maybe that summer? If so, he would have retuned in the summer of 2020.

https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Athlete.aspx?AID=17470918he ran in the Fall of 2020 and the Fall season of 2020 which was held in 2021. He placed 125th at he NCAA XC Championship on March 15, 2021 for the "2020" season.
This year they have him listed as a sophomore for XC. I would then assume he still has a redshirt year.
Kids that graduated in 2018 like Troutner did are now running their senior year cross country. You know…because its their 4th year in college. Troutner should be listed as a senior and should not be allowed to compete unless unattached after this season.

NCAA isn’t age group running, but you already know this.
Aside from that, many kids who graduated in 2018 are just sophomores in eligibility. Redshirt year plus covid year means some will be running for two more years. Will you be complaining about them, or do you just hate BYU?

Finishing 125 showed the mission affected his running. Others complain of him being older but he only has the same amount of eligibility and he took a break in his training impacting his running which caused him to have a year that was less than what he most likely would of had if he hadn't gone on the mission. He was at a disadvantage last year. By the time he uses all his eligibility, his age might give him a little advantage after recoverying from missing two years of training.
