There’s no point arguing with the NP will qualify crowd. The posters are either kids on the team, their parents or the coach. Disagreeing is like telling them their kids aren’t special.

I will bet than no more than one of the top 5 will be NCAA D-1 cross-country All-Americans next year, since only one of them will be in college (Colin, commit to NAU). Others are still underclassmen. But I think the top 4 all have the potential to be as good as Nico. Nico himself commented that his brothers may be better. I would love to see all of them at NAU.
All these posters act like running a 10 k is hard. I ran Division 1 and ran in the 30s for a 10k on an xc course. I am not any of thier parents. Yes there are sub 4 guys that struggle. But running 14:30 on the Woodward park course is no joke. If you have ran it you would know. No one knows how they would perform but it's not as big of jump if you are already running that fast. I bet they are already running workouts that would translate to running a 10 k. It's not like they are running a Marathon.

Probably not them, but just kids around their age who are fans
I think they could compete D2

I ran Terre Huate it's flat and the times usually are only about a 1-1:30 slower than the track so your talking about the first 4 being around 30:00-31:00. The biggest factor is not being used to the cold weather.
I don't think you've run the course if you say it is flat! It's about 45 ft/mile
Its relatively flat compared to most cross country courses. 45 ft per mile is not that bad . I have run it before both the 8 k and the 10 k courses. It's not that tough of a course the biggest problem is it's always cold there. Run the Cal Poly Slo course that one is a lot tougher

Here is a sample after the NP historic Woodward Park Team CR.
I don't think they could qualify through "proper" means but I would vote to let them run it anyway. Why not? They are on a level that we've never seen before and it sure would be fun to see what they can do. I think if given the chance they would beat a handful of teams. Maybe let the top D2/D3 team in also so we can settle that debate as well.
Scheduling will mess up some of your plans.
Isn’t Appleford actually in better shape now than he was last fall?
He ran a 8:52 3200, so he may be able to close the gap on Aaron Sahlman
Based on their cross country results, Lex’s only track 5k and their track results I would say :
Lex : 13:42 with a 4:01 mile.
Leo should be around 13:40 (he has beaten Lex in almost every race they have had together this season with the exception of when he was sick and ran a 9:02 two miles) He has also run a 4:00 mile in his one and only attempt in march.
Colin around 13:37 with a 3:56 mile.
Aaron 8:01 for 3000m, should be around 13:55, has also run a 4:01 mile.
Daniel Appleford was coming back from an injury during XC season, he has now run 8:52 and seems to be really strength based, only running 1:57 in the 800m. That indicates around 14:15/20 in a 5k.
Obviously they would not handle the 10k xc distance very well, especially Aaron, and they would need some times to adapt, but we have to recognize that a few years ago that would have been a pretty solid college team.
The interesting thing is that Appleford is going to a d2 school - Colorado school of mines. I think he should be able to score for them his first year.

Undisputed, best professional, corporate sponsored, high schoolers in US history. They are my go to source for expensive therapies that promise to increase recovery time, by such means as shocking your muscles, that hopefully won't lead to nerve damage down the road.
