Ohhh…you know that’s a horribly incomplete list right? It doesn’t really represent anything.
So, pray tell, where might one find the complete list?
Short answer: You are not going to find a complete list (not even close) - full stop.
I think seikosha may have a very valid point about that list you reference. There are many dozens if not hundreds of accurate race results the are not included there. I am talking about electronically timed, properly officiated track meets and USATF certified road courses.
According to the list you reference, you did indeed rank where you said you did.
However just for reference/comparison, I am not delusional enough to believe my paltry 5:52.2 at age 62 (actually 62 3/4) was in the top 25. More like maybe (just maybe the top 100). Or that my 5:58 a few weeks ago at 64 3/4 was much better.
Does that stop me from chasing a sub 5:50 (roughly = an age graded 4:30) in 2020 when I will be 65? No of course not, but it won't be in the top 25 in the U.S. for 65-70s.
Now in a 2020 race I ran in (and btw crashed an burned at over 6:00), a fellow alumni from my college days, did run a 5:08 at age 61. He likely ran one of the top 25 60-64 time in the country. But respectfully, you and I did not.
I am just trying to crank out the best 'me' I can be with my limited genetic talent and have some fun doing it.
Sincerely, wishing you well with your training and racing hayward field....us old guys have to hang together!
