Alberto Salazar started grooming her for abuse when she was 16 years old. That is what child abusers do. Like I mentioned in the above thread, he psychologically harmed her by fat shaming and sexually harassing her in front of her teammates. That is abuse. She stopped menstruating, and broke 5 bones in her body. Nike is responsible for all of this. She was starved and abused. She was very young when this happened, and did not even realize what was going on. $20 million is nothing to Nike. I am not surprised at all by her lawsuit as her Father is a doctor in NYC. . Any physician, could tell you that what he was doing was abuse. Not having a certified nutritionist or certified psychologist on board was fraud. Ultimately, Nike is responsible. I hope she wins....
You seem to have lost all objectivity. Grinding an axe that hard suggests issues.
How would Salazar be "grooming" Cain? That phrasing is usually used for sexual predators of children.
How was Salazar "sexually harassing" Cain?
For evidence of this, youcite Cain having symptoms of imprudent training and nutrition; stress fractures and irregular menstruation.
Certainly a great many athletes get stress fractures, have eating disorders, have irregular periods, and experience diminishing performance. These things, of themselves, are not evidence of "abuse".
A burden of proof exists for Cain. She and her lawyers must establish both causality and negligence. It is not the plain "gimme" you make it to be.
Salazar is not a Svengali who robs people of free will.
If Cain was old enough to film porn, would she not be old enough to decide what to eat and how to train. Was Salazar the only shaping influence or resource?
If your or I make bad decisions, that's on us.
If Cain makes bad decisions, that can only (fully) be someone else's fault?
