Poor little baby. They weren't mean to her until her parents told the coach, no relays, it's all about Mary. Not sure what her Dad's name is, but it should be Dick.

No. This greed and irrelevant noise should not be allowed to even see a courtroom.
Mary Cain should start a reality show instead, everyone would be much happier

I am a POC myself, but lean right...I used to thing white privilege was not a thing but am realizing that in some cases, it does exist. (Not everywhere, and it shouldn't be an excuse not to work hard, but it does happen).
One of my friends is a POC developer at a software company. He makes 60k, and he found out his friends (who are not POC) make more than he does, even though he's a more experienced developer. They make 80k and are the same age but he has more dev experience. However, they have college degrees, I told him, so that could be a factor.
In the Dev world college degrees are a plus but not as much as in other industries...it's about knowing your stack. So there's a case where white and educational privilege is a thing.
Or, maybe you and your friend want to make it about race, when in reality the degree is the real and only reason.

I remember her story about being an outcast and my heart broke for her. I think a lot of girls were mean to her in HS and MS. At one point I think her dad or a relative posted on these boards (2019, right after her article came out) about her life growing up.

It's clear why Mary was not well-liked.

Thank you for chiming in. It’s clear from this thread that men clearly have no real understanding of how much women athletes actually weigh. I’m 5’10 and in college my middle distance/steeple racing weight was around 132. Maybe 130 when I was 18 and still a baby. Usually around 135 in the off season. I was a size 2 and if I had lost anymore weight I would have lost my period. My teammates who were lighter/playing the calorie game couldn’t stay healthy for all 4 years. And seriously body composition is going to fluctuate from athlete to athlete.
Except mary is not even close to 5-10.
Done so in the Uk.

Imagine. 100% of all competitive gymnasts will now be able to go after their coaches.
Gymnasts are exactly who I thought of. No young athletic girls take as much abuse on their bodies, mental health and evaluation of their body composition more than gymnasts. Especially the high level talents destined for success. They could file a class action lawsuit that would shut their whole sport down.

Funny that Hassan is the best runner in the world with a BMI of 16. Koko is similar. NFL players are obese according to your table even tough they may be at 6% body fat. I challenge someone to post a picture of this skinny Cain that developed stress fractures. She developed stress fractures after she started gaining weight.
Never ever under any circumstances use the 'F' word around or directly to women, always couch it in softer more touchy feely woke ways. To fellas it's OK, such as:
"You're a fat prick and need to lose weight if you want to be competitive."

If the award for this is $20m, I'll gladly step on a scale and get told I'm fat.
Well... on the other hand, that was a 50+ male in a power position, telling a teenage girl to go, barely dressed, on a scale, while ogling her. Then he publicly and negatively criticized the size of "her breasts and bottom":
“Salazar told her that she was too fat and that her breasts and bottom were too big,” the lawsuit alleges.
Not to mention "on several occasions".
Outrageous. Disgusting. I am glad that sicko got finally banned for life.
Hmmm...
Some pretty strong opinions coming from someone who wasn't present during the "Alleged" abuse, as well as some colorful commentary "barely dressed, on a scale, while ogling her". Clearly, there will be an investigation with witness testimony to verify and confirm these allegations.
How about waiting for the actual facts to come out before regurgitating your personal feelings and displeasure.

Were you watching the Joy "everyone is racist and hates people of color" Reid Show while you were putting together your racist "Anti-White" rant?
You need to look in the mirror and check yourself..IDIOT!
$20M is roughly 173,913 pairs of Nike Pegasuses. (At assumed $115 per pair)

I'm serious, Mary Cain is the ultimate example of white privilege and I'm white! What more could you possibly add to her that would scream any more white privilege? She has never worked a real job in her life, always lives in luxury from rich 1% white parents, blames every for her own faults, and targets the visible minority that tried to make her running dreams come true.

I wonder what a lot of her teammates really felt. The old articles I read about her being ostracized were sad and I did feel empathy for her, but now, after reading more about her--even though kids are turds and mean, did she push people away as well?
People forget the importance of having connections and places to go if things get hard. I do think she's a hard worker--she went into pre-med at Fordham or Columbia or NYU or one of those big schools.

"Cain... said... she stole Clif Bars from teammates."
A clear admission of multiple counts of misdemeanour petty theft.
One can expect the DA to hop on this - and a class action law suit from her former NOP teammates who suffered from her selfish actions.
That would make about as much sense as this civil suit.

Let's not forget that several other women have reported similar stories about Salazar. And that he is currently banned for sexual and emotional misconduct. For life! So quite a few actual facts have already come out.
Also, hmmm... how else could he have been able to comment on "her breasts and bottom" if he didn't check her out?
Also, wth? What stupidity, repeatedly, on his side. He will have a hard time in court pretending those were comments meant to improve her performance.

Has anyone credible actually accused Alberto of harassment? Seems like outside the LR mob, most of the people who hate him are disgruntled former athletes/employees. I have no doubt he made insensitive comments about weight, but to conflate that with abuse is absurd.
People are quick to post before and after pictures of runners who use steroids. I am still waiting for the before pictures of the fit Cain to the after Salazar thin Cain that got stress fractures. I can find thousands of pictures of world class runners who are much thinner than Cain was even at her peak and I can find pictures of a chubby Cain during the time that she was with Salazar. She will be embarrassed in court when they go down that path.

1) LR mob?
2) Typically, harrassed athletes are disgruntled. Not credible?
3) Safesport found, in their lengthy investigation, enough evidence of his sexual misconduct and emotional misconduct to ban him for life. Looks credible to me.
4) Based on what observations do you call that "absurd"?
