Theres plenty of potential everywhere with a variety of environmemts conducive to training year round. I can tell you that there are pockets of communities that do well in OR but the rest of the state is uninterested or too impoverished to function as a running community let alone just attend school regularly. Covid idiot governor did her best to ruin kids lives for sure.
Im actually somewhat surprised at the performances but might attribute it to a spring CC season followed by track, summer training and right back into fall CC. Meaning consistent training = better performances.
Or maybe theres something about wearing masks that help runners that dont croak, afterall?
