Their top 5 averaged 14:44 the old record average was 15:06.

Colin won
They just took 2.5 minutes off the previous team time record. Note that 3 separate NXN championship teams have run this course and these guys have an average of 30 seconds on each runner.
Their 1-5 average time is faster than Ryan Hall, Chad Hall, Cooper Teare, and Luis Grijalva (just to name a few).
unquestionably the greatest team in high school history, by a wide margin
Quite possibly the best team performance in the history of the sport?
That is until they run again next time......
Their 5th or 6th is underperforming (not Cantu but that other kid). He ran 8:57 last year. Anyone know if he's running through an injury? I thought he was sub 15 shape coming into the season.
He was sick in the early part of the season. He ran in the non sweepstakes race at Woodridge and was 68 seconds behind their 4th man. Today, he was 35 seconds back. He still has almost 2 months to get back to full strength.

Wowzers, 142 teams, almost a 1000 kids racing on the course at once.

Never mind, I assume the "merge" means that they merged the results.
how is it possible for a single high school team to produce 5-7 nation-leading performers? obviously the program is excellent, but there has to be some form of recruiting going on? it just seems statistically impossible...!

We are witnessing something unique with the 2 sets of brothers that won't be replicated again in a high school program. It's a shame NXN was cancelled. It would have been cool to see if NP could place 4 in the top 10.
yep, there were 9 different boys races. The "merge" is showing all of them together for comparison purposes but no official significance.

Two sets of twins in the top 5 helps; still, extraordinary.
No shame. Runninglane will attract way more than the number of elite teams that NXN pushed through. Some regions are weak in NXN which eliminated national class teams while pushing weaker ones through from other regions. Let's hope that Runninlane is bigger and better than NXN.
Only the Youngs are twins
