Throughout the entire season the team I coach consistently do their Long Run on Mondays, Tempo type workout on Wednesdays and either Race or perform Combo/VO2 type workouts on Saturday. Towards the last 3 weeks of the season we have important meets right before the state meet that are planned on a Thursday (Not my favorite day to do this).
Down below are two options I have laid out that would line up with this Thursday racing. However, I'm having reservations what layout would be best in terms of this time of the season. The one thing that I'm hesitant on is my team takes Sunday off (Primarily LDS) and I dislike the fact that they would perform a harder workout on a Monday due to not running the day before to shakeout. I know there is Tuesday to do one but I feel that there isn't adequate rest for the high school kids I coach during this time of the championship season racing. What is your thought? do I go with A or B layout. Any other suggestions are fine! Thank you

B: Monday: Tempo/short faster stuff mixed at the end Workout, Thursday: Race Saturday; Long Run
