I heard from a reputable source at Hoka that they personally believe most shoes will have a significant rocker geometry and contain some kind of plate within a few years because they make runners so much more efficient. I'm guessing this shoe is a little bit of a glimpse into that future.
The only thing I don't like is the price, but from what I've heard it's a great shoe.
Do they personally believe they'll ever upgrade to a modern foam?

No shoe is for everyone, but they are doing something right. They should have acquired Reebok for the foam.
If they EVER incorporate something on par with the better midsole foams, they will be extremely competitive with any brand.
