GRINDING not pounding.
Someone 50lbs overweight that hasn't run in 10 years, takes their first few steps at attempted jogging. They leap into the air and >>>BOOM<<< like an earthquake, they come down with their heel and fully straightened, brittle leg to the ground. "F-- that," they think to themselves. "No way I'm doing any more of this pounding to my body. It's way easier to sit." Then, they spend the next 10 years not exercising and telling light, fit runners who actually know how to run with proper form, that they're "destroying their body with pounding."
Yeah, it's a bunch of sh!t.
