A hilly 13.1 vs. a flat 13.1. How big of a difference does a hilly course make compared to a flat course over a half marathon? For instance:
1.) A course with ~450ft of total climb. The course is mostly flat except for three different 100+ ft. climbs at miles 3, 5, and 11. Equal down hill on the other side. Climbs are shorter in length, occurring over 0.5-0.6 miles
VS.
2.) A flat course with <50ft of total climb and no significant hills.
What would you expect the time differential -- if any -- to be between say a 1:10 half run on a course like #1 and an equal effort run on a flatter course like #2?
