Your comments on teachers "babysitting" are frankly insulting. Who don't you drop your snot nosed 6th grader with a true babysitter, instead of teachers, for the next 6 years and see how that turns out for them?
That's a great post. The babysitters we hired generally let the kids watch TV, maybe played a board game, gave them snacks, and put them to bed. If that's what their school teachers did I doubt they'd have gotten into college or gotten decent jobs. If you want people to respect you a good way to do it is to respect them.
