Intelligence is not the issue here. This might be my favorite Rojo post of all time. We root for some and not others. It is not a crime to root for others to defeat Galen.
It´s retarded because the reason is because of Rupp´s background, but then he goes on to defend a convicted doping cheat.
Is it because of Rupp’s background? I have not read much of this thread. I root for other runners over Galen most of the time but it is not because of Galen’s background. Galen really strikes me as an extremely selfish person. Fair or not, I don’t care for him and his apparent selfishness.

I was curious about the rough effect of heat/wind. Just looked at the top 25 finishers in the 35-39 men's age group.
2019: 16 sub 2:30, average 2:26:54, average positive spilt of 61 seconds
2021: 3 sub 2:30. average 2:37:27, average positive split of 4:30.
this is a pretty tiny slice of data and only comparing one year of data, and who knows how covid has effected the depth of the age groups, but the most telling thing to me is the difference in positive splits from year to year, as that shouldn't be affected as much by the depth.
rough day.
Not rough if you took conditions into account before the start and adjusted accordingly.
