Hey
I'm in the UK, and we can finally get Tracksmith. Is it worth it? It's pretty pricey - think around double equivalent Nike/adidas.
Any recommendations?
Run mostly 5 to halfs.
Thanks

They have good stuff. If you don’t mind paying extra, go for it.
For shorts, I prefer Vuori. It’s in the same price range as Tracksmith but more comfortable. I have trouble finding shirts at Vuori, Lululemon or Tracksmith. You’d think they would make shirts to fit a 6’ 145lb runner, but a medium is too wide and a Small is too short. I live in FL, so I run shirtless most days anyway.
I only have experience with bottoms (shorts, half-tights), but I would say 100% worth it. By far the nicest running clothing I have ever worn. Period.
It's pricey, but if you're a competent adult, let's be honest: paying an extra $30 for shorts you will likely wear for hundreds of hours over the next few years is worth it.
Have 3 pairs of shorts and a singlet. All very nice. Super comfortable, great aesthetic and you can feel the quality.
I really like their shorts. I have a few pair.
For me "worth it" is debatable. I like them, and running short last forever. I don't gain or lose much weight, and short are only worn like 1x every week or so. I have running shorts that I know are 8 years old or older.
So if I spend $60 on a pair, I'll probably get tired of them before they are worn out.
Get together with your club and talk to them about a bulk order. Mine has two designs of racing vests (singlets in US) which look and feel beautiful and cost very little.
I find their shorts to be very clingy when wet and they take forever to dry compared to others, like Runin rabbit.
I have about 12 or so articles of clothing from them and like them all to varying degrees.
My favorites are the Strata Singlet and Shorts (I have two of each). They're definitely the most expensive, but somehow feel like the best value in terms of comfort because they are so soft yet technical. They definitely cling to my skin when I start to sweat though, but that shouldn't be an issue for shorter workouts or 5k races.
The Reggie Half Tights are awesome too and feel significantly better than any of the cheaper options (at least from what I've tried). The Twilight Shorts are very comfortable as well (I have two).
My least favorite is the Van Cortlandt Singlet because it feels too coarse, but that's just my preference.
Their Session Sweats also feel cheap relative to their price point, but I don't want to call them bad either.
It definitely depends on the specific style, but from what I've experienced, Tracksmith feels a bit better than Nike when comparing styles of the same price.
I actually just switched over to the UK brand Soar Running after wearing tracksmith the past couple years. singlets and half tights are as light as a feather
Some people might authentically like the product, but I strongly suspect most people wear it as a status symbol.
Definitely nice stuff. Maybe the markup is higher in the UK, but here I would estimate TS is only about 15% more expensive than comparable Nike/Saucony/whatever.
If you are male and like half tights, the Reggie lined half tights are excellent. As far as I can tell, only Tracksmith and Nike do a lined half tight, which is ridiculous. Nikes used to have no pockets but were on the whole more comfortable, whereas the Reggies have a decent zip pocket at the back along with gel pockets on the inside. Now the Nike Aeroswifts have gel pockets (but no zips).
So yeah, the Reggies are very good.
Also I like the Harrier long sleeves for colder temps (cold being Australian east coast winter - so cold but not like that cold)
I have a few pairs of the Session shorts which I like for training. Twilight splits have the best material - great for racing. The Van Cortland shorts are awful -heavy, bulky, and coarse.
I'm not a fan. All their stuff is a stretch fabric blend and tends to get clingy and feel weighted down when sweaty. I much prefer stuff that's 100% polyester.

TS t-shirts and singlets are too heavy. If you want premium kit, buy Soar, that stuff is the most comfortable on the market. The race vest is so light you can't tell it's there
If you want the best quality products at a reasonable price, you should look at outdoor/XC ski brands like Craft, Odlo, Gore Wear, Under Armour, The North Face, Daehlie, Arcteryx etc.
