Great job Habs.
Now switching to the carnage of Paris-Roubaix 2021.
Wasn't Lemma the last Ethiopian to drop out of Tokyo? Fantastic achievement.
Did Kitata run most of the race on his own?

He was dropped by the first 5k.
Can we please not comment on runner's weights? We have no idea if/why she lost weight and whether that's actually a healthy thing for her. (yes I assume I'm going to get roasted for this comment)
OK, ground rules. We can comment:
"She seems to have grown taller"
"She has lengthened her stride"
"She has shortened her stride"
"She seems to have more upper body strength"
"Her carriage is more upright"
"She's running with a faster turnover"
But NOT
"She seems to have lost weight"

According to Stretti the men will go for 61:30 - fast but more reasonable than Berlin last week for sure.
Women's pacing is great: three to go to halfway in 1.08.30 and another [Gemechu] 30 sec behind. Will suit the field and we could see 4 or 5 go sub 2.19?
Had to get one think right.

So he ran 38k on his own?

He was with the lead pack until maybe 2-3km, but you could already see him hurting, after that he pretty much ran on his own.
Just curious where the Americans were. All looking to run Boston, New York and Chicago?

Shalane ran 2:35 with the masses. Took her foot off the gas for the last 10k (hope she's feeling OK for the double next weekend 😬)

Don't forget "she appears a little bit overweight"

yes, likely. With covid going about it's easier to not travel and avoid cancellations or restrictions at the last minute.
So the guy LetsRun called an "afterthought" won this morning? Nice.

This seems reasonable tbh.
What runner was predicting he would set a course record if the weather was good?

Fake news. Jonathan Gault called him that - not letsrun.
But he wasnt far off. Perhaps he should have said "almost an afterhought."
I talked about this in our recacp. The dude has started 21 marathons and never won a major. O for 13 in majors counting Dubai.

Yes, terms like “chunky,” “solid,” “stout,” and, heaven forbid, “overweight” are clearly out of bounds.
