Bekele did a 61 half, that's in line with what he predicted.
He is watching his watch a lot to be sure he is on pace.
I have not lost all hope yet.
They're saying Bekele's split was 61:00

calculated move by Bekele, this is so exciting, he knows what he's doing from 2019, rest went out too fast
+1.
60:48 is crazy, bekele is doing it right.
2:01:39 is back to back 60:49.5... so why is 60:48 crazy?
why doesn't letsrun have one of those chat things that some of the streaming sites have?
lol big daddy coming in with the math!
As far as I'm concerned Berlin organizers have done their job at this point, 60:48 blazing half. Whatever happens next is out of their hands, hoping Adola has something for us. The good news is even if the front group slows, that gives Bekele a chance to re-join in

Because you are supposed to run the second half faster.
Not to blow out. Peffect split half are impossible.
watchin kenny b racing is sooo much more fun than eliud.
official splits has the lead group go 301 last K?

the announcers are doing a very good job of keeping hope alive for Bekele. What he is saying is logical, but it is just so mentally difficult to drop back like that and stay strong by yourself.
Will see in next couple KMs if KB holds that roughly 12 second gap.

It's not necessarily crazy, but none of the 4 in the lead pack have any business running that pace; that's why it's absolute lunacy. Bekele seems to personally prefer negative splitting, and so a 61:00 half is perfectly reasonable.
Bekele is gonna mp these phuqers up. GO BEKELE!
Is that a rabbit running alone in the lead?
Will Guye Adola set the marathon world record? lol
One of the pacemakers has broken away

Naw. No way. He has a target. He wasn’t dropped. He stepped off the pedal. But the pacers went too fast. They failed . One needs to drop back and help bekele.

My heart!
23K was a 2:57 split, slowest of the race so far. Still pretty quick for the "slowest split"
