Just curious what workouts has he done that gives him, coach and agent this 100% bet on breaking the wr? It must be something, where is renato he would know what workout and time trial would indicate a for sure bet on the wr….
The paces that should be done in training to run 2:01:30 are maxVO2 at 60-61 sec / 400m , Lactate threshold at 4:28 mile pace ( 2:45-2:46 min/ km ) and easy steady distance close to 5.40-5:55 mile pace ( 3:30 -3:40 min/ km ).
thats not what i was asking lake superior jv coach.....i am asking WHAT workout or workouts has he done where himself, his coach and jos think the WR is a sure thing
like did he do a 35km time trial at your 4:28 pace, of 1:37:08, or a 40km time trial at say 4:30 pace in 1:51:51.....i mean he has had to do something that puts him well under the pace in a long time trial to make this prediction....and yes he looks lean and excited.....as if he knows he is going to smash it hard....go out in 61, come back in 60? come back in 59 high? like i wish jos and his coach would drop us some juice.
when Cheptegei said he was going for the WR in the 5k, his coach dropped three workouts that said it proved he would do it. i think it was 2000m repeats, 3000m repeats and maybe 1000m repeats all at altitude.
so lake michigan jv coach dont tell me some lame thing, tell me what YOU think was a workout that would predict a 2:01:25 or so....cause it seems like this is a publicity stunt or they all know he is going to destroy the record.
im going with a 30-40km time trial that was faster than WR pace and he was still fully in control and confident.
