The routes and heat maps are great for exploring new areas. I definitely spend a little too much time on it as well, but i feel its a better use of my time (analyzing my training versus professionals) than mindlessly scrolling thru tik toks,

it's the only social media i do that has my real name attached. it's basically my FB/instagram/twitter rolled into one. i enjoy seeing what my club mates, a few college buddies, and a few pros are up to. and yeah the kudos dopamine hit is some good sh!t. also when it tells you you hit your weekly mileage goal? oh yeah baby.
It's a great service. Very convenient to have everything logged easily in one spot. Fun to compete on some segment. And it's free. What more could one want?
Strava is an interesting phenomena. It can be a useful tool, but it's also an extension of social media like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and a lot of people truly get wrapped up in it. I see segment assassins, who actively seek and find segments or KOM/QOMs that they can lead. And then there are workout warriors. On my feed I have age group runners who post what would be world class/nearly national record level training sessions, but when race day rolls around they are 45-60 seconds/mile off the paces. So that's a head scratcher but I don't sweat it too much. I'm pretty sure a couple guys on my club/team stalk my workouts because I'll do something and a few weeks later they do the same thing or very similar.
I'm a middle of the roader. I do now upload most workouts and training but will take some time each year when I shut it down. I'll give out about as many kudos as I get. Some people are way popular, some are not. Also, like expunging all my high school acquaintances from Facebook several years ago, I do wonder to what end and maybe others don't need to see what I'm doing day-to-day.
i have it but forget how to log on or open it. so no . i think my watch up loads to nike garman and strava. but i forget how to check them.
Not even a lil bit. I have one. Its private. The only reason is its really nice to easily reference how many times I've done a certain route. aside from that it's useless for me.
I think Strava is good in moderation but envy is a big thing I'm struggling with. Not fast enough but I'm working on that. And at the end of the day, I'm realizing it doesn't matter how many likes/kudos I get--the key is it should just be a repository for me for runs and info after I finish--a cloud-based training log, more than anything.
Where I'm at all the runners are popular and have huge followings but I don't know as many people, so that could be part of it.
I use it but it's kind of spoilt running for me. I removed myself from all clubs and leaderboards. I added too many people and want to cull that too but it would be awkward now especially if I pass them in the street.
I am definitely a die-hard user! It's my only social media. Put your handle in and I'll follow you :)
