claim. He requested pace lights set at 29 flat and that’s what he ran the whole way (yes, pace lights for a road 10K!). Weather was conducive for running fast but the course wasn’t ideal. A 2K loop with lots of sharp turns and not well lit. Was fun to watch though. And Chavez and Merber made it more interesting and enjoyable than a product rollout event had a right to be.
Once they all saw the course, they all decided to run slower than planned. Parker was at least honest that he was still there to get his workout in. I believe Jared wanted to run fast to have a personal victory as he hasn't had the desired results lately. Anything to snap out of a funk. Like an NBA star making a layup after a whistle is blow 'just to break the lid on the basket'.
