Wow.
Wow.
Oops, 13:38. Still good.
First ever sub 70 minute team time (sub 14:00 average)
Mate that’s not “good”
Wasn't the course record 14 by Chad Hall before yesterday?
Nico who?
well, with the way Jakob and several young africans run, maybe people will finally stop saying that kids like this are doing too much too soon?
A job well done. Congrats to Leo and the team.

I think this is the first group of kids to be doing in right in the US in a very long time, maybe ever.

Turns out if you raise expectations, kids will respond to meet them. He’s convinced these kids that they can be great and they have become great. That’s good coaching!!!
Their #5 is a liability.

The usual “5th runner” Dan Appleford was not in this race as he is recovering from an illness. He’s a sub 9 3200 runner, so I think they are going to “ok” at #5! Yes, two sets of brothers, but undoubtedly this will be the greatest prep xc team in US history. The Young brothers, including Nico, are the greatest sibling trio in prep history. It’s pretty obvious.

What he means is it’s “a bit short”.

NO.....The course was changed from last year. In the last mile, the course used to cut straight through the "backyard" at Silver Lakes Sports Park. This year it detoured around it. All of my kids had 3.05 or 3.06 on their GPS. I would estimate that the course was 15-20 seconds slower (at least on Friday) than 2019.
On Friday, 7 of the 8 winning team times were slower than 2019 with an average difference of +77 seconds, or about 15.4 seconds per runner.
I don't know if they changed it back for Saturday or not.

Your kids need to find the tangents. That's not what I have seen on GPS last night.
