19:16!
My freshman opener time was 19:27 and now I'm around low 16s (college freshman). went from a 4:57 mile -> 4:21 too (puberty helps folks).

I wasn't there... so no but I can ask her lol
she had fun which is most important and also ran fast :)
Well, Was she in the top ten? Had you ever run that course? Your best time? What number runner on her team is she?
she finished first in race and first by a minute and maybe a half (was just freshmen)
I actually didn't do the same course when I was a freshman (missed the meet for something can't remember) but I did a course later that season in 19:27 and then I think I got my time down to 18:53... Now it's 16:20. I put a TON of work in, and also grew a ton and went through puberty. I also wasn't using my biggest effort... I had always been better at the mile and had to really work at distance.
but no, she's definitely better than me! I can't wait to watch her improve.
(also this is me, Letsrun wouldn't let me post).
Thank you for your reply. Good luck to both of you.
