You had me thinking her first name was Aussie. Glad to see that isn't true. Oregon just reloads.
Foreigner! Where is the outrage? NOPE.
Her Instagram says she is a Nike athlete and suggests that she is represented by an agent.
Another cute,fast, young 800 Keely!
Also curious how she is eligible?
I guess her Nike deal must somehow be able to be called NIL? Strange as I’d think having any kind of performance based incentives in a contract would be disqualifying.
Worrisome that her PR was 3 years ago
In this thread (and others) it says college is not happening because she definitely “signed” with Nike, go figure

Probably will improve in the USA. Harder in Aus with fewer competitors etc.
pro athlete signing a sponsored athlete is a direct violation.

would a 5k payment for wearing nikes at nationals be a performance clause or a NIL? What about a contract clause that pays you 50k for a speech if you win an olympic medal? Feels like you could write up a pro contract that is within the letter of the law. What seems clearly illegal would be winning prize money.
Realistically enforcement is going to be a total pain. I have a feeling the NCAA is going to ignore all but the most blatant cases. They dont need the headache...
If she can run for a college after signing a shoe deal, then so should Hocker and Kessler. We are missing out without them in the NCAA this year.
Funny. She’s now removed the athlete representative from her Instagram. Unlikely she will compete for the ducks.

Well if she does compete for Oregon, after settling her pro/amateur status, she could be 25 or so when she uses up her eligibility including a redshirt year.
Where's the outrage!
It’s my understanding that foreign athletes are ineligible for NIL benefits while going to school at NCAA institutions—has something to do with their student visa status.
That's because they can't work (except on campus). Easy to get around. You just get NIL from your home country.

"Oregon just reloads" - said from someone who clearly doesn't follow the womens distance scene. Oregon women distance have struggled since Maurica Powell left. Baez only thing they've had.

Isn't the Oregon women's coach the old USF coach that fielded a team full of fuzzy foreigners? Why coach up domestic talent when you can import older foreign talent?
Looks like this didn’t last long. Already has left and gone back home.
How do you know she's back in Australia?
What's so impressive? Those were my highschool PBs too.
