Well, if it was the 90's, I would say he's at the wrong school and he should be at Arkansas. Their team was built on guys with that range and better, and John McDonnell knew exactly what to do with an athlete like that. You are going to have to have "The Talk" with him. It's basically the event selection talk. Stay down, try to work toward :46 and 1:45 range, or move up and go for strength and use your speed as a deadly tool, while working your upper end and longer range. If an athlete isn't going to buy in to either the direction of going up or down, you will laboring in futility. Good Luck.
