I'm an 18 year old guy and one of my younger siblings (my sister) is crazy fast. She's only 14 and can run a 5:17 mile as of this spring at an 8th grade track meet... she hadn't really been even focusing that much on track and cross country much during middle school because she was a high level gymnast...
When she was 12 we ran this 10k road race on a hot day and she finished in like 45:30 something (7:20/mi), which I know isn't crazy considering a 12 year old just subbed 37 (WTF). I think she has a ton of potential and if she puts the work in she can get even faster...
She's a freshman in high school now and has her first race soon (second cross country season)! I'm excited for her. I set an elementary school mile record lmao but that's my only claim to fame as I'm a 4:21 miler and 16:20 something 5ker (fast course).
Thoughts? I'm confident she can get below 5:15, if not 5:10 as she's been training a lot over the summer.
