And for himself, as an adult. And for himself, as he was an athlete. And for Slaney, when she ran for him. And...
It's a simple question
Who has had more runners fail drug tests?
BOWERMAN
or
NOP
Do we know for a fact that Rupp was on testosterone medication? I thought there was only something from Magness about testoboost, which is not testosterone medication and is basically 100% useless garbage.

No we don't. We have innuendo about Salazar giving Rupp massages before meets or spreadsheets referencing testosterone medication administered.
It is flimsy evidence at best. The whole "theory" is that there's this outer circle of Cam Levins, the Gouchers, Ritz and so on who were just subject to Salazar's gray area stuff. Then the inner circle of Rupp, Salazar and *maybe* Farah who were doing the more obvious cheating stuff out of view and with no witnesses or paraphernalia coming out of it.
It's possible or plausible, but there're no cracks in it thusfar.

That doesn’t make sense.
If the testosterone linked to Salazar only included his personal prescribed amount, there’s no possible way it would be included as one of the reasons for his ban.
He was not, and could not, be banned for possession, but he was banned for trafficking to a third party.
Actually he was banned for possession.
I’m talking getting arrested for possession. Not any of these idiot track agencies. Law enforcement. Possession of testosterone is a crime…..unless you have a script……unless he had enough for more than one. Which I’m guessing he did.

Lol…. This is the same response another poster wrote earlier in the thread.
I’ll ask you the same question: If the testosterone, carnitine, etc Salazar was banned for wasn’t for his athletes, who was it for? You don’t need that much for “testing” as he claimed.
No one cares about L-carnitine. It is not banned. L-carnitine was for everyone.
The testosterone was for his sons, in an experiment designed to understand the risk of sabotage.
Incorrect. The CAS certainly cares about L-Carnitine.
They care so much they listed it as one of the reasons for Salazar’s ban. Tampering with a doping control process. Also for syringes.
Shady Al….. No clean athlete infuses anything, injects anything, or cares about testosterone threshold.

Ah I see, the CAS did find him guilty of “possession”. That is new.
Salazar has a prescription for testosterone.

Not incorrect.
No one cares about L-Carnitine. Not even the CAS. Because L-Carnitine is not banned.
L-Carnitine was incidental to the “tampering” charge. The issue was the method, not the substance.

Nope. Still wrong. The CAS listed L-carnitine by name on the denial response. I’m sure you saw it.
If nobody cared about L-carnitine…..
A) It would t be on the banned substance list.
B) Salazar wouldn’t be involved in injecting it to his athletes. Even his most vocal supporters can’t believe a 70 year old is injecting cartinine…..’
C). Shady Al wouldn’t need syringes….. oh wait! The test…. My bad. Lol
I noticed. But I also recall that we discussed several issues with testo in the long AAA decision thread, including that he did not always have a prescription:

I think you should educate yourself on what the tampering charge really is, and what is on the banned substance list.
I recall. Salazar admitted personally using testosterone at the tail end of his career.

You’re mincing words, boot licker.
The report has been handed down and upheld. The wording clearly states why Shady Al will not tarnish the sport any longer.
I know I can buy L- carnitine at the local food store. I remember in the 80s, it was touted as a fat burner by the bodybuilding community. Lies…..
Maybe the key is injecting it? Either way, the powers that be have spoken and your disgraced idol is finished. Ha. Ha.

He was using it personally, because evidently you don't know, that he damaged his immune system and his own testosterone levels through excessive training during his athletic career.
True.
Does anybody know how many athletes from the Nike Oregon Project tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs?
This Salazar guy seems pretty bad. There must’ve been a lot of runners being banned for PED’s under his watch.

It doesn't mean anything if it was permitted at the time and was used within limits.

Rekrunner is actually correct in this case. L-carnitine is perfectly legally, as is infusing it. What the AAA panel found is that Steve Magness (who they determined was an Athlete according to the Code) received a Prohibited Method in the form of an over-limit infusion.
Probably not a good idea for you to lie about the contents of the WADA Prohibited List and argue the specifics of an AAA report you clearly haven’t read.

True.
Another way a person might damage his testosterone levels is through abuse of testosterone or anabolic steroids without proper medical management. The same is also linked to heart disease. Weird, huh?
I think that despite the differences of opinion on this subject, I think we can all agree on one thing……
