If he wasn't getting any offers, he still merits them. He soundly beat the NCAA in-season record, and he did it solo in an ACC prelim. He has won a few titles and has a fine kick, plus he qualified for the Olympics while still in college. He is a team player and a favorite of many in the running community for his personality. His whole team roots for him in a way you don't see for a lot of people (on the professional level, only Steve Cram seemed to inspire that kind of support even from his biggest rivals, Coe and Ovett). Next year, he should get a solid contract after multiple additional podium finishes and probably an NCAA outdoor 1500m title and indoor mile title.

Listen, Notre Dame doesn’t get top quality coaching although they do attract top quality running talent. I can’t think of one great Norte Dane coach that went on to Stanford or Syracuse or NAU or BYU, etc.

WHAT? Yared talks so highly of Coach Carlson (even in the podcast). I would Go so far as to say that he might even stick with him if he gets an independent contract in 2022.
Again, don't say things you don't know about Yared. Listen to the podcast for more insight and then have a hot take.
I would say an athlete always speaks highly of his/her coach, but if you read Nuguse's interviews in high school, he only went to Notre Dame for the prestige and education, not for the coach.
Notre Dame is not renowned for coaching, but it is renowned for attracting religious Catholic runners of the highest quality like BYU does for the Mormon community.
