Haha this defeats the purpose of your question, but highly recommend the Nike Streak LT 4 with the spike plate in the bottom if you can find them. It makes them only usable for track and natural surfaces, but that’s better for you than running on pavement anyways. The non spiked version is good, but no where near it.
I like the Altra Vanish XC for some high school courses where there is a fair bit of pavement or hard grass. It has little rubber "spikes" that help grip on looser terrain but don't get in the way when on compact surfaces.
This is a great option. You can screw metal plugs into the spike receptacles so pebbles/rocks don't get stuck in them. I wore the true Streak LT 4 flat for a XC race recently and it worked great as well, but the track spike version of it would have much better grip.
