coahc - this is the off season workout right?
Correct we are in lockdown at the moment so I can't be at training sessions. Our season hopefully will run from December- March.
In Australia no indoor season just a long outdoor season in which we break it into 2 parts.
Generally we go start going to the track in October and go once per week. We do a lot of running at 3k (Vo2 max) pace and our shorter efforts are over shorter distances. Of my two 800m runners one has a 400m pb of 48.23 while my 19 year old has run 51.1. So the training varies a little when they go to the track. We were lucky last season as I had another runner run 3:43 for 1500m but he is back at Princeton. No it isn't Ed Trippas who represented Australia but there is another Aussie on the team. Ed trained with my guys in January is a good bloke.
The training we do seems to work as we had a 16 year old female run 2:12/ 4:28 for 1500m and a 14 year old female run 4:37/10:06 last April. Our top athlete is our group is a female who has run 32:26 and 1:11:47 for 1/2 marathon and she competed and placed top 50 at Aarhus WXC so we do ok. Sorry the troller doesn't believe but I don't mind sharing what we do for training.
